Pomegranate appears to be more than just a load of vitamin C. A new research comes to strengthen the results of other studies, showing that men wanting to make their partners happy in between the sheets should drink pomegranate juice on a daily basis.
“The juice is rich in antioxidants that increase the blood supply to the genitals.” said lead author Dr Christopher Forest, University of California.
The new research incorporated 53 male subjects with libido problems. After a month, about 50 % of the subjects said that their sexual performances increased after consuming pomegranate juice. The fruit had been already connected to decreased risk of heart disease and prostate cancer.
Just a small amount of pomegranate juice daily raised the stability period of prostate cancer by 4 times, with such a significant effect that it could enable men to experience a full lifespan without experiencing malign prostate cancer.
The research was also made at the University of California on 50 subjects with prostate cancer who had undergone surgery or radiotherapy, and displayed a post-treatment rise of PSA (prostate specific antigen), showing that cancer had not been completely eliminated from of their organism.
The team monitored the men’s PSA levels to determine how much time it took to become double. The average doubling time was 15 months and men with short doubling times were more likely to die from the disease. But drinking pomegranate juice daily prolonged the doubling period to 54 months, and the team also got evidence that the juice was in fact completely eliminating the prostate cancer cells.
“The improvements had been surprising and, though it was not a cure, scientists may now be able to stump prostate cancer growth.” said lead researcher Dr Allan Pantuck.
Another research made at the University of Southern California in 2009 on ED (erectile dysfunction or impotence) patients revealed that 47% of the men reported erections improved with pomegranate juice.
It is believed that the potent antioxidant content of pomegranate juice can impede the harmful action of the free radicals in circulatory function. Many researches pointed that pomegranate juice improves blood flow and decreases or even reverses arterial plaque development. By decreasing arterial plaque and enhancing blood vessel dilation, the pomegranate antioxidants improve erections. 10 % of the men worldwide and about 20 million just in US alone are affected by impotence.

(NaturalNews) A recent study from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, has found that rheumatoid arthritis is on the increase among Caucasian women. And the culprit is likely an environmental one, like vitamin D deficiency, rather than a genetic one.
“It’s pretty unlikely that the genetic makeup of a population changed that quickly,” explained Dr. Sherine Gabriel, one of the authors of the study, in response to the likely cause of increase. And she is right, considering that cases of rheumatoid arthritis had been decreasing into the mid 1990s.
The study included data from the Rochester Epidemiology Project, which evaluated the medical records of people living in Olmstead County, Minnesota, since the early 1900s. The findings revealed that in recent years, there has been a slight increase in rheumatoid arthritis cases among Caucasian women, following a period of steady decrease among the entire population since the 1950s.
The most likely cause is vitamin D deficiency, which has been increasing recently, especially among women. Vitamin D plays an important role in protecting the body from disease, including maintaining bone and joint health. People who don’t get enough of it are at a much higher risk of developing diseases like rheumatoid arthritis than those who maintain optimal levels.
Rheumatoid arthritis affects approximately 2.1 million people in the United States, and about 70% of patients who have the disease are women. Rheumatoid arthritis usually develops between the ages of 30 and 50, but it can occur at any age.
